READERS INTERVIEW: STEVE
I got my first tattoo when i was 17 years old. I managed to convince the tattoo artist to do one for me the day before my 18th birthday. from a very young age all my favorite rock stars were covered in tattoos so I always wanted to get tattoos to be like them in any way I could. at first i just wanted sleeves but i got carried away and have now decided to get around 80% of my body covered slowly but surely I am working on it and i am aware it will take many years. most of my tattoos are meaningful to me for example i have a tattoo of my perception of my mother and father on my elbow.
Whats up Steve, so what got you into tattoos?
From a young age I loved rock bands that were covered in tattoos. (Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium Etc) and this influenced me to be like them. i liked the way their tattoos looked and wanted people to see me in that way.
Cool. What was the last tattoo that you got done?
The last tattoo I had done was the Eye on my throat. it took about an hour and a half and is by far my most painful tattoo I have had to endure.
''I went on a two week tour of America with my family stopping off at San Francisco, California. my dad told me to bring something back with me. So I decided to get a tattoo!!''
No pain, No gain.. playboy.. What are you going to get done next?
Next i believe i am going to get my left sleeve coloured in a bit and eventually complete it with a few long sessions. I am also going to complete the sleeve by getting the bit of skin i have left on my left arm tattooed.
What shop and artists do you get your ink from?
I have had work done by six different artists I believe. a close friend and tattoo artist called Hakan Kacar who actually owns a tattoo shop in my home town called the Tattoo Clown is where i usually go to. although i love to have a tattoo done when traveling. for example i went on a two week tour of America with my family stopping off at San Francisco, California. my dad told me to bring something back with me. So I decided to get a tattoo there which turned out to be one of my favorite tattoos
What do you think of paperchasers ink magazine?
I think the magazine is full of useful information for the most experienced tattooed people and the least experience tattooed people. it gives a great introduction into what tattoos are like who does them and how awesome they look.
