When a festival gets told that you will have to change everything that your fan base love's if you want to do your thing next year. its a madness!! so following loads of complaints by the group Friends of Finsbury Park and a review by Haringey Council, Wireless Festival will only be allowed to remain in London's Finsbury Park, if they follow all the new rules that have been put down.
The Council have amended the licence conditions and now the new rules include that "performers do not sing or play any vulgar, obscene or banned songs or carry out indecent acts or make any vulgar gestures, actions or remarks during the performance"
and that performers do
"not offend the general public, e.g., attire which expose the groin, private parts, buttock or female breast(s)".
The last day of the festival now has to finish at 9.30pm, and extra sound monitoring is going to be in place. so what they are telling Wireless is that your balls have been cut off, but we think that the best thing they should do is move the festival out of Finsbury Park and find a new spot to run the festival.
We wonder what the fine is going to be for Wireless if someone twerks on stage or if a artist lays down a track and spits some bars that one or two people may find that they dont like, what's the big deal? people pay for their tickets and they know all the artists that are going to be on the stage, so what's going on? well its kind of due to the fact that Wireless is held where it is, it's not based in a field outside of London like all the other big boy festivals, people can hear the music from the stage inside their yard, so we kind of understand people will moan if you give them a reason, maybe its time for a move anyway.
